Detroit River and Lake St. Clair
The Detroit River and Lake St. Clair is a special place that I have not fished in years. I enjoyed a top 10 finish here in 2002 while fishing the Canadian Fishing Tour (CFT) Mitchell’s Bay Pro Bass tournament. Earlier in the same year, I made the cut after day two to fish the final day of the CFT Canadian Open out of Windsor, finishing in the top 20. When on them, you can expect to catch more than 50 Smallmouth Bass per day! A very abundant Walleye fishery and the area is well known as a trophy Muskie hotspot!
Northwestern Lake Ontario
The northwestern shores of Lake Ontario are my summer hangout for Salmon and Trout. There are many accessible boat launches in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and the fishing can be outstanding in June through September! Numerous Chinook Salmon pushing and exceeding 30lbs are caught each season by avid anglers. Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Atlantic Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Lake Trout.
Lake Simcoe
We are grateful to have a cottage on Lake Simcoe. Often called the other Great Lake, Lake Simcoe has some of the largest Jumbo Perch in Ontario and Smallmouth Bass that exceed 8lbs! Being so close to the GTA, Lake Simcoe can be a busy lake, making catching a challenge, especially on weekends! There are numerous professional fishing guides in the area that can put you on fish. Yellow Perch, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Whitefish, Burbot.
Kawartha Lakes
The entire Kawartha Lakes system is close to my heart. At the age of 19, I won my first professional fishing tournament in 1990 on Pigeon Lake. Teamed up with lifelong friend Ralph Papiest, we not only caught the largest Walleye of the tournament, but we won The OV Pro Walleye, Great Kawartha Walleye Hunt Tri-lakes II event by .05 lbs over pros Les Zacny and Paul Climpson. A moment that solidified my passion for fishing for Life! Walleye, Muskie, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass.
Bay of Quinte
I was fortunate to grow up fishing and hunting in the Bay of Quinte area. Known for the mammoth sized Walleye that swim the local waters, the Bay has become one of the hottest bass fisheries for both largemouth and smallmouth. I was fortunate to make my way back to the area in 2002 when I qualified for the Chevy Mercury Bass Tour’s National Classic. Two years later I was fortunate to win a Pro Am Invitational event on the same waters. Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Salmon, Trout, Northern Pike, Muskie, Whitetail Deer, Wild Turkey.
