Scholarship eligibility requirements

The winner will be chosen at the sole discretion of an authorized representative of Coin Branding Inc., based on their judgement as to (as described here), 1. The best fishing or hunting memory and photo; 2. The best maximum 500-word essay on how, in the last year, the entrant has lived one or more of the Outfitter Financial brand values.

Only one (1) prize, of $2500 Canadian Dollars, will be awarded. The prize is intended but not required for use by the winner toward the costs of attending University, College or Trade School in the Province of Ontario. The entrant chosen as the potential winner by Coin Branding Inc. is required to meet the eligibility requirements below.

Contest period and entry methods

All entries must consist of BOTH a photo AND an essay submission:

A. Fishing or Hunting Photo and Memory Submission 

Entries will be accepted in the Trophy Room, per the instructions here, from 9:00:01am ET March 16, 2024, and close at 8:59:59am ET on July 16, 2024.

B. Essay Submission

Entries will be accepted by email, at , per the instructions here, from 9:00:01am ET on April 16, 2024, and close at 8:59:59am ET on July 16, 2024.

Mailed entries of the Fishing or Hunting Photo and Memory will be accepted starting March 16, 2024, and must be postmarked no later than July 16, 2024.

Mailed entries of the Essay will be accepted starting April 16, 2024, and must be postmarked no later than July 16, 2024.

Odds of winning 

For both the A. fishing or hunting photo and memory submission and B. essay submission, odds of winning depend on the total number of valid entries received during that period, as well as the quality of the photo, memory and essay submitted, that quality to be judged solely by an authorized representative of Coin Branding Inc.

Announcement of winner

All eligible entrants will receive on July 28, 2024 an invitation to a Zoom livestream, to be held August 1, 2024. The winner will be announced during the livestream.

Intellectual property

All content and/or intellectual property submitted by entrants shall become the sole property of Outfitter Financial Inc., for use at its sole discretion, subject to the below privacy policy.

Eligibility requirements 

Confirming eligibility is a multi-step process to take place at time of entry. Please read the following carefully and in its entirety. In order to confirm your eligibility, at time of entry:

1. Complete the Eligibility & Liability/Publicity Release Form. Read the Eligibility & Liability/Publicity Release form carefully before completing and signing. The document must be completed, signed, and received via email at  by 8:59:59am ET on July 16, 2024.

2. Provide Proof of Age (via a photocopy or image of Driver’s License, or other document that proves date of birth) and send via email to , to be received by 8:59:59am ET on July 16, 2024.

Note that, at some point in 2024 (no later than December 31, 2024) the winner must be at least 18 years of age, and by December 31, 2024 no older than 21 years of age.

3. Provide proof of Enrolment/Attendance at a post-secondary institution and send via email to , to be received by 8:59:59am ET on July 16, 2024.

Skill testing question

As one component of meeting eligibility requirements, each entrant must correctly answer a skill testing question, which is included in the Eligibility & Liability/Publicity Release Form.

To be declared the winner, entrants are not required to be in attendance at the August 1, 2024 livestream announcement. The name of the winner will be posted as soon as possible after the livestream.

Delivery of scholarship

The scholarship, constituting (1) cheque in the amount of $2500 Canadian Dollars, will be mailed to the winner and should be received by approximately October 20, 2024. We are required by law to report to the Canada Revenue Agency the fair market value of the scholarship. The winner will receive a copy of this documentation and will be responsible for all applicable taxes on the prize.
